Once upon a time, Shiv and Parvati took the form of deer and wandered into the dense forests near the Bagmati River in what is now Kathmandu, Nepal. Seeking a break from divine duties, they sought a simpler, wilder life - just the two of them, living joyfully as ordinary beings, surrounded by nature.
But as the other Gods found themselves in trouble, they searched for Shiv parvati desperately. When they finally found him living as a deer with Parvati, they tried to bring him back. Shiv, not wanting to return, resisted. In the process, one of his horns broke and fell to the ground - and that sacred spot became Pashupatinath, the place where the Lord of Lords (Mahadev) had once lived as one of them.
This tee is a constant reminder that True Power is only Kindness!
