There was a time when Hanuman didn’t even know how powerful he truly was.
As a child, he had leapt for the sun thinking it was a fruit — and the gods had to calm his boundless energy. Some say his powers were veiled, not to limit him, but to teach him humility.
So, when the time came for someone to cross the ocean to Lanka, Hanuman stood among the vanaras - unsure.
“Can I really do this?”
That’s when Jambavan, the wise bear, reminded him: “You are no ordinary being. You are the son of Vayu. Your strength has no limit.”
And in that moment, Hanuman remembered. He grew in size & confidence - and with one leap, flew across the ocean to Lanka.
There, he not only found Sita, and gave her Ram’s message of hope and his devotion,
and when captured - burned down the golden city of Lanka, not out of ego, but to deliver a message:
“This is what love looks like when it serves dharma.”
