Nestled in the heart of Himalayas, lies the mighty Badrinath Temple. Nar and Narayan, twin avatars of Vishnu, meditated here for the welfare of humanity. Impressed by their devotion, Vishnu manifested himself as a black Shaligram idol beneath the Badri tree - hence the name Badrinath.
