Lord of the Himalayas

After the Mahabharat war, the Pandavs, burdened by the sins of war, sought Shiv for forgiveness. But Shiv, unwilling to meet them, took the form of a bull and disappeared into the Himalayas. The Pandavs pursued him, and when Bheem spotted the bull, he tried to stop it. The bull dove into the earth - but Bheem caught hold of its hump.
That hump is what we now worship as the Kedarnath Jyotirling, nestled in the icy heart of the Garhwal Himalayas.

History:
The temple was hidden under the icy Himalayas, until Adi Shankaracharya found it again. He is walked from Kerala to Kedarnath to find Shiv in the Himalayas.
